Very good atmosphere, very calm and with relaxing music. If the weather is great you should really go outside on the terrace where there are some fountains as well. Most of the times the waiters are very nice to you, even discussing and giving recommandations. Great place, eat here every time I am around at lunch time !read more

Craving Chinese food brought me to Restaurant Shanghai, a restaurant just south of the old part of the city that's been open for a few decades. Walking in, the space is beautifully-decorated and they even a small kids play area. I ordered takeout and within 15 minutes and 96 lei later, I was on my way.I ordered their version of orange chicken. It's not at all like what I am used to in the U.S.A. (or even China), but it was tasty. The chicken breast is breaded and there are actual orange slices in it. It comes with rice.For dessert, I got the black sesame dumplings. They came swimming in hot water. They are medium-sized balls filled with sugar and black sesame paste.read more

Had lunch the other day at Shanghai. I opted to go vegan this time to test them out.It said vegetarian, but I guess it was vegan as I had the 'three types of veggies with chili sauce' . Tried to bargain for rice noodles instead of the big bowl of rice next to it but without succes. So probably about 80% of the rice went back to the kitchen/dumpsters. Way too much rice 🤣.For starters we had the veggy spring rolls and they were really good and fresh. All in all 4/5. About 8-9€ / dish.read more

The place feels like a Chinese Embassy,with all decoration and setup teleporting you to there part of the world.Food looks good , taste could be a bit more authentic , using more traditional spices would enhance the flavour and could help I believe.Couldn't see any tofu specialities choices in the menu or similar traditional dishes.We tried the fried rice with chicken, the pork tounge cucumber salad and the Shanghai Chicken.Around 4 parking spots , just have to park rear ended first and quite close to the curve so anyone can pass by in or out.read more

Great food, generous portions, but above all excellent service, we dined twice in a 2 week period, once with a large group with kids, and the second time with a smaller party. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the "wood ears" mushrooms to the noodles, the ginger lemonade, the desserts!! One of our waiters, Ionut, very nice, very accommodating, brought plenty of ice and extra plates for sharing.. he deserves a raise!!! Hats down, great experience, highly recommend!read more

Great place to get food, they have a wide variety of dishes to choose from. They have it nicely broken down into types of meat or veggie as a base.As long as you know what meat you prefer and don't mind soms strong flavours, you won't go wrong with almost any dish hers.The prices are on the expensive side, but you do get generous portions. The restaurant has a very nice terrace that is far from rhe street so you can enjoy some quite time.We got the pork with everything dish and rhe fried rice with egg and shrimp. Also got the wonton soup and beef soup. Our favorites were the beef soup and pork with everything.The fried rice was quite lacking in flavour.The waiter was friendly and the serving was efficient, did not wait long for the food to arrive.read more

Everything was absolutely perfect!The service really deserves 5 stars, the waiters are all very kind. The food is delicious and the place looks great. Also, the prices reflect the great service but are still accessible, starting from 27 Lei for the menu of the day.read more

We frequent this place very often. For your birthday you can get 50% off. The dishes are very far from the Chinese traditional cuisine, but is understandable, as is somehow adjusted to local taste. Staff is great food is amazing, must go if you are living in Cluj.read more

I went for a quick visit, I really like the arrangement of the place and the service was absolutely excellent.I ordered a daily menu, and for 22 lei, which is less than 4 euros, I has a pork, bambus and mushroom soup and chicken Sishuan, the portions are really big, so maybe ask for less rice or just take one dish. As for the taste, they were not great but not bad either, out if 10, I would give a 7.I have yet to return and try their other dishes and come back especially during the summer, I saw they have a really nice terrace.read more

Extensive menu, reasonably priced. This is my third, maybe forth visit here and once again it didn't disappoint.If you are in a hurry, or budget conscious then the menu of the day for 25 lei (about £5) will do nicely. The portions are quite large as well.There are three different choices every day (soups and mains) so there is something for everyone.The restaurant advertises that they don't use MSG (Chinese salt), and they might not do, but the seasoning with soy sauce and salt is quite on the heavy side. Still a good meal.read more

Un local din garda veche a restaurantelor premium clujene si unul dintre putinele care au supravietuit. Meniu variat cu adresabilitate pentru toate gusturile, portii mari, servire profi mereu. Great place the get some chinese food! The restaurant is very welcoming but when we got there we were lucky because they usually require a reservation prior. Authentic and real tasting Chinese food. Do not expect the food to taste like in a restaurant from China because it will not. It's way better tasting because they do not use MSG. You can actually taste every ingredient because of this. I recommend that if you go , tell the waiter what type of meat you prefer and if you like normal or spicy food and he will recommend the best dish.It's really hard to recommend any dish because I have been eating there for the past 15 or so years and I love everything on the menu.The chefs are top notch , the waiters are experienced and well mannered , they will serve you properly.While the prices seem high, you can order 1 or 2 dishes and that will feed at least 2-4 people.read more
